Hope you are all safe and continuing to follow the health guidelines set out by the UK government.
After the slight relaxation of the lockdown restrictions by the Prime Minister on Sunday 10th May 2020, the question has arisen of where the re-opening of Driving Schools falls in the government’s 3-stage exit strategy from the Coronavirus pandemic.
The emphasis is still very much, return to work if you can’t work from home and if the work environment has been adapted to be Coronavirus safe. A large part of making a workplace ‘safe’ is being able to maintain the 2 metre Social Distance from others.
This is very much impossible to implement in the confinements of a training vehicle.
Therefore, unfortunately we are unable to restart our driver training at this time. The lesson suspension will need to continue until we have been given further information from the government, along with relevant advice from the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
When the situation becomes clearer and know exactly what safety measures and PPE is needed for us to provide safe driver training, we will provide you with a further update.
Hopefully this suspension will not be for too much longer and we can look forward to seeing all our students back training very soon.
Finally, all theory test centres remain closed up to and including 30th May 2020. However, Theory and Practical Driving tests are still obtainable for key workers who meet the stringent criteria.
