Anil at Formula Jon Driving School helped me to pass my driving test. I took automatic driving lessons with Anil. Before learning with Anil I failed the test several times, but passed “first time” since learning with Anil. He gave very helpful advice, is friendly, reliable and professional, and gave me the reassurance that I needed. I would 100% recommend Formula Jon and Anil. Thanks again

If there were awards for patience, Jon would have a trophy cabinet full. As a very nervous driver heading into my 4th driving test (yes my own doing!) Jon never lost faith, never lost his calm and somehow kept me sane. His support and reassurance made even my most panicky lessons manageable. Jon is a fantastic Driving Instructor. They are very structured in how they teach — every session has a clear objective, feedback is specific, and standards are taken seriously. If something isn’t done correctly, they won’t let it slide, which actually builds confidence because you know you’re learning the right way. At the same time, the atmosphere never feels intimidating. They know when to ease the pressure, keep things fun, and make the learning enjoyable. You can tell they genuinely care about progress rather than just finishing a session. Overall, it’s disciplined training delivered in an engaging way — strict where it matters, relaxed where it helps. I started learning with FormulaJon in August 2025, and today (February 2026) I have passed my driving test first time with 1 minor. The driving school is great, I was immediately contacted when I submitted an initial enquiry about finding an instructor - Jon was friendly and helpful. Ravi was my driving instructor, he is really passionate about his students, truly wants the best for them and to help them in any way he can. I loved learning with Ravi! I'm going to miss our regular chats touring around the roads of Wallington/Purley/Croydon. Would highly recommend this driving school to anyone looking to start learning to drive.

I had two weeks of lessons with Nadeem leading up to my test at the Morden test centre and passed first time. He was incredibly supportive, and my confidence grew with every lesson. I highly recommend!

Nadeem is honestly one of the best driving instructors I could have asked for. He’s super experienced, and you can tell he really cares about his students. From the very first lesson, he made me feel at ease behind the wheel, even when I was nervous. His explanations were always clear, and he had this way of breaking things down so they didn’t feel overwhelming. What really helped me was his patience and he never made me feel rushed or stressed even when I was struggling with certain manoeuvres. Thanks to Nadeem’s guidance and encouragement, I felt fully prepared and confident on my test day.

Passed my manual driving test first time thanks to Naddy! Started off as a nervous driver but Naddy was incredibly patient and really helped me build up my confidence at a pace that worked for me. After failing my first driving test almost a year ago with another instructor (not from Jon Formula), I went back to Jon. I first contacted Jon before COVID, but the country went into lock down one day before our scheduled assessment session. Then for two years I think he's been busy clearing up backlogs from his pupils - I'd been keeping asking him regularly ever since, as the feel of him via speaking over the phone has always been good. I have then contacted a few other schools/instructors, never went ahead with any of them because they were awful/rude/chaotic even from contacting phase. Two months before my first test, Jon was not available and neither are any other manual instructors that work with him. So I went with a completely new instructor i stumbled upon that has availability on the short notice, but failed after having 30 hours with him. Then I thought I'd check with Jon again, he himself was not available but recommended Ravi who works with him. Ravi has been brilliant - always chilled, laid back and explain things. Always punctual (more than punctual - he's often earlier than expcted 😃) and always follow up with lesson credits after esch lesson. The driving vibe he's set up is so relaxing that it really contributes a lot to my feeling relaxed, confident and comfortable driving and dealing with different situations, esp. errors/faults I'd made in my first test. Ofc I passed (with 4 minors), but what I wanted to sayd is he doesn't just teach for the sake of passing the test; rather it's safe driving. The only small suggestion is maybe sometimes advise on *how* to do certain things on top of *what* you need to do. I know reference point can be a bit unreliable, but sometimes I feel like I know what I should do, but a bit unsure how I should do it. I will definitely come back for motorway/carriageway sessions when I get more driving (still getting used to my own car!). All the best to Formula Jon. All the best to Ravi!

I passed my driving test first time and it was thanks to my driving instructor Jon Kenny from formula Jon driving school. He came to pick me up in carshalton every lesson for my manual driving lesson. In every lesson I always felt like I was learning something new, I was made to feel comfortable every lesson even if I was making mistakes. We were looking for manual driving lessons in Redhill. We spoke to Jon at Formula Jon and he was very helpful. Jon put our son at ease and was really good at building his confidence. Jon gradually worked towards getting him ready for his test, using mock tests in his final lessons. Our son passed first time with zero faults. Jon was also flexible if we needed to change a lesson time. Jon is a very good driving instructor and we would highly recommend him.

Such a great school for learning how to drive. I took Manual driving lessons with Ravi and through his great teaching skills I passed first time. I had a previous instructor from another school who wasn't so great and the comparison between that school and this school is undeniable. Ravi was amazing in helping me gain confidence to pass my test. I previously had already taken a test with a different instructor. Since learning with Ravi I passed my test on the second try, I feel I drive completely differently to how I did before I began learning with him, he helped build my confidence and build a better understanding on how to drive safely and effectively. Ravi has been an absolutely amazing instructor, with a great approach to teaching. I started lessons with him around 2 months ago with a test coming up and he has been extremely supportive and accommodating throughout the entire time, helping me to pass my test first time yesterday! I cannot highly recommend him and the school enough.

Not only is Jon patient, when you do make the mistakes he knows how to make you laugh about it instead of putting you down. I passed my practical driving test today on my very first attempt, with zero minor faults—literally not a single one. I’m absolutely over the moon. But the real credit goes to my amazing instructor, Anil. I had never driven before in my life, so this felt like a massive challenge. Anil was incredibly patient, calm, and completely tuned in to what I needed. He spotted my mistakes even before I did and made sure I kept practising until I got it right. Morden Test Centre isn’t easy, and my routes were particularly tough. I genuinely believe I couldn’t have done this without an instructor as experienced and dedicated as Anil. Learning how to drive with Ravi has been the most pleasant and fun experience and turned driving from a stressful, tense activity into something I truly enjoyed! I came back to Formula Jon after have a few lessons two years ago. I was very nervous in the car and had build up some bad habits from previous experiences. Ravi immediately made me feel comfortable and taught me in a relaxed way, no tension or harsh criticism. He was always happy to listen to what I wanted to work on and wouldn't move on from a skill unless he knew I was 100% happy and confident. He also gave me a lot of confidence and positive affirmation going into my test, which dissolved a lot of the usual exam nerves for me. I was lucky enough to pass my test first time and couldn't be more grateful to Ravi for making that happen, it never would have happened without him!

Jon is actually amazing. He was able to support me in every area that I needed. We even did the manual lessons in my own car, as that’s what I plan to take my driving test in. He really thought of every eventuality for me and supported me with it. Considering he only had me for four hours, he managed to cover everything that I had worries and fears on and get me prepped for my test which I have now passed so I will forever be grateful for him. An absolute amazing team of instructors. I learnt under Tina for about 20 hours efficiently and extremely good skills to take with me to the test and driving on the roads in future. Unfortunately Tina wasn’t able to take to to the test and Jon very kindly stepped in and prepared me as well as give me a fresh perspective and calmed me down for my exam and Managed to pass first time with only two minors thanks to such an amazing driving school. He is the best instructor I could have asked for, our lessons were fun and educational. His humour is top notch and he made sure I was always comfortable when driving. Everything was explained clearly and I could tell he really cares about what he does. Jon made sure that all my questions were answered and I had no doubts. I failed my test twice before passing today because of nerves and my own silly mistakes and Jon made sure to help me overcome my problems and pass today. I passed my driving test today at Morden TC and this would not be possible without the excellent guidance from Jon (automatic instructor). I have changed three instructors before Jon and I definitely feel like Jon’s patience and mannerisms made all the difference. He really is one of the best instructors that I have come across. I would highly recommend Formula Jon Driving School. My 17 year old son had lessons with them as they were great for him, going at exactly the right pace to build his skills and confidence. He was thoroughly prepared for his test and passed first time.

I struggled for quite long to pass my test before my work colleague told me to take lessons from Jon and it was worth it. He can get your driving mistakes sorted and knows how to teach. My previous instructor had no idea how to teach as a result i wasted many hours and money. 100% Recommended.

Highly recommend Formula Jon to everyone. They were very flexible and patient with me which helped me to maintain a high standard of driving despite my anxiety. I passed after 6 months of bi weekly lessons (something I thought I’d never do) and this is all thanks to the confidence and experience of my instructor Jon K who after seeing my drive after coming from a different school understood what needed to be done.

Jon is really reliable. I learned from him when I knew nothing about driving. He was very patient and believed in my ability even when I didn’t believe in myself. The day before my driving test, he told me I could drive to the hospital, which enable me to trust myself. I passed my driving test on the first attempt with four minors, and I really appreciate how Jon taught me. The lessons were fun and relaxing.

Jon got me a first time pass after just 16 hours of lessons. A top instructor and a nice bloke who makes driving for the first time seem like a walk in the park. Would highly recommend! 10/10.

I would like to give him 5 stars, even though I am not his student. My car was parked on the street and got scratched by another car while I was away. He intervened and spoke to the driver, who then left a note on my windshield. Thanks to him, I was able to get the repair payment from the driver.

Great manual driving lessons in Carshalton. When I started driving I was very unnatural, but Jon did a great job teaching me from the very beginning to passing first time. The 2 hour lessons were very useful in getting me to test standard aswell. Jon was also a very patient instructor who takes a lot of care in making sure his students are up to the required level when it comes to test day. 10/10 would recommend!
