Free Driving Controls Lesson For NEW Students
Formula Jon Driving SchoolFormula Jon Driving School is pleased to offer quality automatic driving lessons in Wallington. Whether you’re a resident or commuting to a place of work, we can accommodate your driver training needs.
Wallington is a busy place to learn. From the Roundshaw roundabouts to Wallington High Street and the Purley Way, there is plenty to watch and judge.
Learning in an automatic removes gears and clutch control, so you can give all your attention to the road, hazards and planning.
Here is why automatic is a good choice for Wallington drivers:
Calmer at the Roundshaw roundabouts: There is no clutch to stall when you stop, wait and pull away, so you can concentrate on positioning and judging gaps.
Faster learning curve: With less to coordinate, many learners need fewer lessons to reach test standard. Your own number of hours depends on how you learn.
Easier stop-start driving: Traffic on Wallington High Street and the Purley Way means a lot of braking and moving off. In an automatic you simply brake and go.
Good for nervous drivers: With fewer controls to manage, many nervous learners feel more confident from the first lesson.
Future-proof skills: Electric cars and hybrids are almost all automatic, so you are learning for the way cars are going.

From Novice to Test-Ready
We specialise in automatic driving lessons in Wallington and guide you through the skills you need for test day:
Beginners: We start with moving off, stopping and emerging safely on the quieter roads of South Wallington and Woodcote, with no clutch to stall.
Intermediate: We move on to the Roundshaw roundabouts, meeting traffic on Wallington High Street and merging onto the Purley Way, so you can focus on steering and safety rather than gear changes.
PricesAutomatic lessons cost the same as manual. Our rate is £39 an hour in the SM postcodes, or £38 an hour when you book a 10-hour block.

What happens on your first Automatic Driving Lesson in Wallington?
Introduction to the Vehicle The lesson begins with a tour of the car’s interior, including the automatic gear selector (P, R, N, D), the dashboard and the steering wheel. You learn what each light and button means before the engine starts.
Seating and Adjustments A good seating position matters for control and safety. We teach you to adjust your seat, head restraint and mirrors for the best view of the road.
Controls and Instruments We cover the accelerator and the brake. In an automatic you use your right foot only, keeping your left foot on the footrest. We also cover indicators, headlights, wipers and the horn.
Stress-Free Automatic Driving Our automatic lessons offer a relaxed way to learn, whether you are a total beginner or switching from manual.
Ditch the Clutch Don’t let gear changes hold you back. Book your automatic driving lessons today and our friendly instructors will tailor each lesson to you.

Yes! We provide both manual and automatic driving lessons with fully qualified DVSA-approved instructors. Automatic lessons are ideal if you prefer easier gear handling, while manual lessons allow you to drive both types of vehicles once you pass.
This all depends on the student's driving ability. There is no official minimum number of lessons. Studies cited by DVSA put the average at between 37 and 52 hours with an instructor, plus 13 to 20 hours of private practice.
We prepare students for tests at nearby Morden Driving Test Centre See our Morden driving test centre guide for the address and what to expect.
